It's January 2, 2006 and I'm still having
a difficult time accepting the loss of these 2- beloved llamas. Both
touched our lives in so many different ways, that it's very hard to write.
I'm hoping by finally updating the website, I'll be able to let the world know
how truly special these two were.
Sport was Kendra's. Dale was mine.
Sport had to be one of the best PR llamas we've ever
seen or come into contact with. He loved the attention a show or school
group brought. He would walk into the show ring acting like he owned it
and a lot of the times, he did. Sport was a natural at PR. He was
the epitome of the perfect friend. He liked attention and never failed to
give back as much as he got. To walk out into the pasture where he once
lived, is now very empty. He's not there and that's very sad. The
day we lost Sport was one of the most heartbreaking days of our farm. He
was one of our foundation llamas of MK Llamas and we'll never be the same.
Dale's death was a tough pill to swallow. We lost
Sport exactly 1- week to the day before Dale and were still having a hard time
dealing with it. In one week, we lost the llamas that were... MK Llamas.
Dale was always known as "My Dale". He was known
for not being friendly to anyone other than me. We all used to laugh at
shows, because I'd ask Michael to go get Dale for his class and Michael would
look at me with that "you've got to be kidding" look. It took twice as
long for Michael to get Dale to even walk with him and as soon as Dale saw me,
he'd run over next to me and just stare at Michael as if to say, "Why didn't you
tell me you were bringing me to my Mommy?!". He was MY boy and
everyone knew it. I loved showing him, even when he was acting like a
little turkey, but he was still, "My Boy". Life just isn't the same
without him. I miss Dale terribly and honestly, there isn't another llama
that's ever going to take his place.
We haven't given up showing llamas. Because of
these wonderful boys, we'll jump back into the ring again with new llamas.
We're not replacing them, we're just starting over. We loved Sport and
Dale and we'll miss them for the rest of our lives. They were each, one of
a kind. Rest in Peace our dear beloved Sport and Dale. We'll see you
at the Rainbow Bridge.
